Michelle Obama is receiving much criticism from the press for wearing expensive Lanvin Leather Sneakers (which retail for $630, but are on sale for $504 at BlueFly.com) while volunteering at a Washington D.C. food bank last week. Michelle was previously praised for her affordable fashion sense. I do think Michelle is wearing a J.Crew sweater if that’s any consolation.
Michelle’s haute sneakers, designed by the Paris house of Lanvin in France, are one of the most sought after (and most expensive) currently in the world. These sneakers are made of suede, with grosgrain ribbon laces and metallic pink toe caps, and have been a hot seller all spring.
Purple seems to be a favorite color among Mrs. Obama, so I think these Jump Crew W Sneakers, only $69.95 from ShoeMall.com, would have been a more practical choice.
