Chinese Laundry Cosmos Booties

Posted by kim on August 3, 2009

Seventeen Magazine featured Chinese Laundry’s Cosmos grey leather booties in their August 2009 issue. They are currently on sale for $99 with Free Shipping (regularly $129) from ChineseLaundry.com! Gray boots are obviously the fab choice for fall, as seen in the latest Gap ad as well.

Special offer for Shoeaholics! Subscribe (or renew) to Seventeen Magazine for only $10 for TWO (2) years from Amazon.com! That’s only 42¢ an issue delivered to your door! Save 86% off the cover price of $71.76. My teenage (and tween) daughters love this magazine.

Perks of Shoeaholicism

This video was embedded using the YouTuber plugin by Roy Tanck. Adobe Flash Player is required to view the video.

I was making my Mailbox Monday video yesterday of all the cool stuff I got in the mail last week, and realized I got a lot of cool “shoe” stuff recently (the perks of being the President of Shoeaholics Anonymous), so thought I’d make a quick video review of such. This was my first attempt with this video camera, so I apologize for the crappy sound.

I even wore my “Will Work 4 Shoes” tshirt by coincidence.

Tom’s Shoes sent me the ”For Tomorrow: The Tom Shoes Story” DVD (that was played during the Tribeca Film Festival this year) after I wrote a blog post about how TOMS gives a pair of shoes to a child in need for every pair of Tom’s shoes sold!

ShineToGo.com offers convenient all-in-one, no mess shoe polishers that include a polish applicator and buffer with real cream polish.

Achilles Heel Shields (try saying that three times real fast) are shoe care devices designed to protect the heel of dress shoes, athletic shoes, cowboy boots and high-heels (as I demonstrated on my Mootsies Tootsies heels) from scuffs and damage while driving.

Solestruck.com was nice enough to offer both Squeak and me any pair of shoes we’d like from their site.  Squeak chose the Kenneth Cole Reaction Glam Girl Sandals. I was wanting a pair of black booties, but the original pair I received I wasn’t digging.  I felt a bit guilty for admitting so, but knew I wouldn’t wear them after seeing them in the flesh.  The nice folks at Solestruck emailed me a free return shipping label, and I got a new pair of shoes within a couple of days (they offer fast, free shipping).  I now can’t wait to wear my new BC Footwear Jelly Donut Foldover ankle boots with jean to the next football game!  Thank you Solestruck!

Shoes are my Labor of Love

Happy Labor Day!  Even though I’m still sitting at my computer today and working per se, I love writing blogs and sharing my shopping finds that I can’t really consider this a “job“.

The above pic is of me was taken on Saturday wearing my new Wedge Gladiator Sandals from Wet Seal. I like them as they are both fashionable and comfortable. I got quite a few compliments and a few “those look like Jesus sandals” comments from obviously non-fashion friends.  And I had to wear red, as it was the Huskers first football game of the season!

I won $25 in a football pool on the game, and now I’m asking you to help me win a Zappos gift certificate to help fund my shoe addiction, although if I win I’ll probably re-gift and give it away to one of you on this site!  All you have to do is visit Jim Kukral’s Zappos Mandal page and vote for #5 (that’s my feet in the Nike slides).

I’m also looking into redesign this site, and would like to include a Flickr feed of everyone’s shoes! So upload your shoe pics to Flickr.com and tag them shoeaholics for them to be featured! And I’m having some new tshirts made up, so stay tuned on how to score one soon!
