New Shoe Arrivals at Talbots

Posted by kim on October 1, 2009

What would you buy if you received a free $500 giftcard for Talbots? I know what I would buy – SHOES!

Wingtip boots

I fell in love with these new shoe arrivals at Talbots as I have been looking for a new pair of black booties to wear out on the town and a new pair of brown boots to wear to football games.

Italian Calfskin Sleek Booties (shown left), $129 Leather uppers, stretch gores, 3¼” heels, rubber soles. Petra.

Wingtip Boots (shown right), $179 Wingtip accents pick up on the season’s menswear-inspired look. Side zippers, 2½” heels, rubber soles. Darcy.

I also found some Croco Embossed Mahogany Platform Pumps for $139 and a Leopard haircalf double-handled bag for $159 that would also buy if I received a $500 gift card.  Isn’t pretending fun?

If you’ve been following the red chair confessions blog as I have been, you’ll know the confession revealed was Talbots!  Talbots has changed their store image to be more hip, modern, and the best part of all – more affordable! Talbots is no longer a store for your grandmother!

I didn’t have time to check out the Talbots store while shopping in Sioux Falls yesterday. And can you believe that I did not buy one pair of shoes while shopping?! Me either. Guess I now have two reasons to go back!

Perks of Shoeaholicism

This video was embedded using the YouTuber plugin by Roy Tanck. Adobe Flash Player is required to view the video.

I was making my Mailbox Monday video yesterday of all the cool stuff I got in the mail last week, and realized I got a lot of cool “shoe” stuff recently (the perks of being the President of Shoeaholics Anonymous), so thought I’d make a quick video review of such. This was my first attempt with this video camera, so I apologize for the crappy sound.

I even wore my “Will Work 4 Shoes” tshirt by coincidence.

Tom’s Shoes sent me the ”For Tomorrow: The Tom Shoes Story” DVD (that was played during the Tribeca Film Festival this year) after I wrote a blog post about how TOMS gives a pair of shoes to a child in need for every pair of Tom’s shoes sold!

ShineToGo.com offers convenient all-in-one, no mess shoe polishers that include a polish applicator and buffer with real cream polish.

Achilles Heel Shields (try saying that three times real fast) are shoe care devices designed to protect the heel of dress shoes, athletic shoes, cowboy boots and high-heels (as I demonstrated on my Mootsies Tootsies heels) from scuffs and damage while driving.

Solestruck.com was nice enough to offer both Squeak and me any pair of shoes we’d like from their site.  Squeak chose the Kenneth Cole Reaction Glam Girl Sandals. I was wanting a pair of black booties, but the original pair I received I wasn’t digging.  I felt a bit guilty for admitting so, but knew I wouldn’t wear them after seeing them in the flesh.  The nice folks at Solestruck emailed me a free return shipping label, and I got a new pair of shoes within a couple of days (they offer fast, free shipping).  I now can’t wait to wear my new BC Footwear Jelly Donut Foldover ankle boots with jean to the next football game!  Thank you Solestruck!
