What Not To Wear

Jim Kukral receives his fair share of banter for wearing white socks with his Mandals. He even wrote a song about them. Now I’m not opposed to white socks with brown shoes, but I am absolutely appalled to see anyone wear black socks with brown shoes (black socks with shoes of any other color than black is bad news). So when I saw Jim at a conference in Boston earlier this week wearing black socks with his mandals, I seriously thought I was going to vomit. Ok, maybe the cheap vodka had an effect on me as well. But after seeing that, I’m adding an addendum to my perfect guy specifications.

You’ll be happy to know that the mandals are coming to the end of their summer stay. I am, however, going to buy myself some of those nice Nike sandals you had on in your Flickr photo. Can I wear those with black socks?

Jim, since those Nike slides are not totally black (the swoosh is white) I personally wouldn’t wear black socks with them, but that’s my opinion.
Took my daughter to the doctor today, and he was wearing black socks with brown shoes. I’m really thinking he read my blog first and did it just to make me cringe.
Wayne, 8 out of 13 is better than most men do.
