Nursing Whites

Posted by squeak on January 25, 2008

Think about the last time you were in the hospital, either as a patient or as a visitor, and think about what the nurse was wearing for shoes. I think of crocs, walking or tennis shoes. But thinking back a good decade or so ago, the nurses wore ugly white shoes such as this. My son had surgery a couple weeks ago, and one of the nurses came in wearing these Women’s Porpet Mary Jane Walkers. It looked odd to see someone wearing them. I’m sure the extra-volume fitting and velcro strap make them comfortable, but thank goodness I do not have to wear anything thing on my feet that meets Medicare A5500 Guidelines.
