Shoe Review: Nike Air Max LTD

Posted by kim on March 19, 2010

Jason Rubacky's Nike Air Max LTD

Jason Rubacky (a Floridian transplanted to Chicago) sent me an email showing off his new Nike Air Max LTD shoes saying, “So happy I get to wear sneakers again… I haven’t got to wear a pair outside since October!!! These by far are the hawtest shoes on the block!”

Nike Air Max LTD - Men's

The Nike Air Max Ltd. (available from Footlocker.com, $99.99) is a special-edition Nike men’s casual shoe that features a leather and synthetic upper, visible Air-Sole® unit and dependable rubber outsole. Great reviews are saying that these light weight shoes will “make you run so fast, you’ll need truck mud flaps.”

Del and Kim and Keen, oh my

Posted by kim on January 4, 2010

Keen Footwear sent my boyfriend, Del and I some Keen shoes to review.

Winthrop Clog Bison (Full-Grain)I chose the Winthrop Clog in Bison color ($85 from KeenFootwear.com) because we all know brown mules/clogs are my favorite. I’ve never owned a pair of Keens, and I have to say these are the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn! No lie. I love that I can just slip them on with jeans and go!

Pamper your feet with the Winthrop Clog from KEEN. Cozy up with the soft, boiled wool lining. The casual design and rich leather upper give your unique style a boost. A rugged rubber outsole is ready for spontaneous fun.

Keen Austin WoodburyDel chose the new Austin in Woodbury ($100 from KeenFootwear.com). He agreed that they are the most comfortable shoes he’s ever worn as well! And I think that he looks quite appealing in them, but then again I may be prejudiced.

Too hip to keep locked up in an office, the Austin from KEEN was made for urban exploration. The classic lace design gets a modern twist with waterproof leather. The removable metatomical footbed adds cushioning in all the right places, making sure your feet enjoy the trek around town.

We both found the styles ran true to size, and we have dubbed them our new “shopping shoes” since they are so comfortable to wear when we shop all day! Yes, he likes to shop, too!  Winner, winner, chicken dinner.

I’ve had a few other companies want to send me men’s shoes for review as well, so I’m thinking as long as Del can put up with me, I may start a monthly “His and Hers” shoe review column on the blog. Thoughts?

Vibram FiveFingers Barefoot Shoes

Posted by kim on October 7, 2009

I first wrote about Vibram FiveFingers Barefoot Shoes over two and half years ago. Since then they have released both Men’s and Women’s versions and styled them up a bit…

Vibram FiveFingers KSO Barefoot Shoe (Men’s, shown left in Blue/Grey/Camo) $84.95 from RockCreek.com

Vibram FiveFingers KSO Barefoot Shoe (Women’s, shown right in Grey/Fuschia/Grey) $84.95 from RockCreek.com

The Barefoot shoe is based on the age old concept that being barefoot helps your balance, your connection with the earth and energy, and gives you the ability to move in a more natural, healthy way. The KSO is designed to “Keep Stuff Out” with its abrasion resistant stretch polyamide and breathable stretch mesh that wraps your entire forefoot to keep out gravel, grit, mud and other possible irritants.

Read more and see more colors & styles (ie Flow, Sprint & Classic) here.

I still wouldn’t be caught dead wearing them. Just sayin’.
