Skyhorse Publishing is Calling All Shoe Lovers!

We’re putting together a book on our passion for shoes, and we want your help!

If you are a REAL shoegirl, the relationship you have with your shoes is deep, meaningful, mutually satisfying. But even you, shoe aficionado that you are, have a favorite pair, the crown jewel of your collection.

The Shoes. Maybe they’re the hot new heels you bought for Saturday nights out, those sweet boots you got cheap at an end of season sale, or something less flashy and more sentimental, like the shoes you were wearing when your husband proposed, or the sneakers you wore when you backpacked across Europe after graduating college.

Whatever they are, we want to see them.  So drag them out of the closet, give ‘em a shine, and take some snapshots.  Then tell us why these are The Shoes.  Give us a little history.  Let us feel the love.  If we love them like you love them, we’ll put your shoes (and your name!) in the book.

The Details - Send us those shoe pics and 50-250 words about why you love them.  Direct all emails to ilovemyshoes@skyhorsepublishing.com  - Include your name and email address, so we can contact you if we choose your shoes.

Make sure all photos are at a resolution of 300 dpi (if you’re shooting with a digital camera, set the resolution as high as you can), so we can admire your shoes in their true glory.  Also, keep them smaller than 8” x 8”.

Be creative!  Take your shoes on a photo shoot around town (or around the house).  The photo is only limited by your imagination, just keep the focus on the shoes (not that we have to tell you that).

The Legal Stuff - Don’t steal photos out of magazines or off shopping sites.  We want your shoes, walked in, lived in, and loved. You agree that when you send a Submission via email, you grant Skyhorse Publishing Inc. a non-exclusive, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use the work. We may use, copy, sublicense, adapt, transmit, distribute, publish, display or otherwise use it as we see fit, in our sole discretion. By making a Submission, you waive the right to make any claim against Skyhorse Publishing Inc., its owners or any of its respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, employees, agents, directors, officers and shareholders relating to the Submission, including, but not limited to, unfair competition, invasion of privacy, negligence, breach of implied contract or breach of confidentiality. Without limitation of the foregoing, we shall exclusively own all now-known or hereafter existing rights to the Submissions of every kind and nature throughout the universe and shall be entitled to unrestricted use of the Submission for any purpose whatsoever, commercial or otherwise, without any compensation to the provider of the Submission.

Q&A: Shoe help

Patent black/white tuxedo ankle boot shoes 3.5Q: Hello, I’m searching for this patent black/white tuxedo ankle boot as seen on ebay.  I’m from Germany and I can’t find them in size 38.  Can you help me?  ~ Katja

A: Hi Katja, First off, I would recommend contacting that ebay seller as it looks like they are a power seller with many, many listings, and they may have some in stock, just not listed. Without knowing the brand name of these shoes, it is difficult to find, but we found some similar alternatives (click pics below for more info). Can anyone else help Katja?

Shoe Lovers Dream at Saks

Posted by kim on August 16, 2007

Saks New Shoe StoreAm watching the TODAY show this morning where Meredith Viera is giving a sneak peak of the new shoe department at Saks Fifth Avenue flagship store in New York City that plans to open to the public tomorrow. 10,000 square feet holding over 100,000 shoes! The department, which takes up the whole eighth floor, is so big that it has been granted its own ZIP code, 10022-SHOE!

So I ventured over to Saks.com to find a picture to share, and saw this promo…
Receive Free Exclusive Limited Edition Collectible Stamps, created by our favorite shoe designers (Christian Louboutin, Jimmy Choo, Stuart Weitzman, Valentino and Giuseppe Zanotti) with any Saks’ Shoe purchase with Code: SHOE. I wonder if we can buy those stamps from the post office?  If so, I’m gonna frame some.
