Lisa Picarille was the moderator of our Content that Kills session in Boston, and wore these cute Aerosoles Lodge Ball Wedges in Seaweed (also available in Black). Being a big fan of Aerosoles, I just had to get a picture of them to share. Lisa claims they are very comfortable, and I thought they looked very appealing with her outfit. Much better than the Lisa’s “fandals” with socks for the GeekCast 31: The Hot Mess (note Jim Kukral in his Mandals in the video as well).

I have been wanting a pair of Mary-Jane Buckle brown mules ever since Squeak bought a black pair of the Aerosole Gift Snap shoes. Payless had a knock-off version for awhile, but I missed that boat. Then one of my friends wore a pair she had gotten from Target to my brother’s birthday party last week, and said they were really comfortable. I was doubtful of them since I love my Aerosole mules so much, but took her word for it. So when Squeak called me last week to say the Merona Abigail Buckle Mule was on clearance for $16 at Target, I was ecstatic. Until she told me she bought the last size 7.5 in Brown, but I could buy the Black. No, I wanted Brown! But she said they ran a tad small, and there was an 8 available, which fits me perfectly (pic above), so all is well! They are available online as well at Target.com & Amazon.com for only $16.

I was in Omaha yesterday and got to see the new DSW store for the first time, and can you believe I didn’t buy anything there?! I can’t either, but I did manage to buy 5 (yes, five) other pairs of shoes!

Shes shown above are from Famous Footwear (BOGO plus coupons)…
What’s What by Aerosoles Saddle Up Black Mules I think these are being phased out and replaced by the Aerosoles Cinch Worm Mule (I want these in brown!)
Eurostep Over The Top Brown

And these from were from Kohl’s (on clearance, my middle name)…
Union Bay Brown Bits Loafers
Mootsies Tootsies Never Wrong Black Satin Heels I have the the perfect black velvet dress with rhinestones to wear these with - problem is I’ve never had an occasion to wear the dress yet, but if I do, I’ll now have the perfect shoes for it!
Mootsies Tootsies Mo Amust in Dark Brown I already have these in Black and have worn several times, so think these may make good church shoes.

As shown in this pic from Vegas last week, Carolyn from Urban Epicurean shows us that red boots rock! It’s amazing how accessories make an outfit. If you take away the boots and scarf away, you’d have a very plain black dress. Black, white and red is one of my favorite color combinations. So the next time you think you don’t have a dressy outfit, remember all you have to do is add a scarf, boots, jewelry, or a cool belt to a simple black dress. Carolyn’s boots are Aerosoles (circa 2001) so now considered vintage, but grab her style with these AK Anne Klein Mead Red Boots ($152 at Zappos.com). And take her advice, “…the real point is that every woman should have at least one pair of knee high red boots for those crazy Vegas evenings, eh?”
