Summer to Fall, Sandals to Boots

Is it just me, or does anyone else have a hard time trying  to figure out what to wear between sandals and boot season? 

Spring / Summer= Sleeveless tops, capris and sandals.
Fall / Winter = Turtlenecks, jeans and boots.

Today is a perfect example as it’s 70ish degrees, yet it’s September. I am going to consider this Kin Ship style from Aerosoles as my in-between shoe.
