One of my best friends, Jill spends several days a week traveling for her job. There is this store called Family Dollar that we do not have locally, and she loves to go there whenever she has the chance. Her last trip and purchase included this shoe planter. She knows since I love shoes, have lots of shoes and work for shoes I needed this. I currently have it on my desk as I’m not sure what I’m going to plant in it. For the time being when people ask about it, I tell them it’s my glass slipper.

These Kenneth Cole Reaction sandals may go by the title “Glam Girl” but I do not consider myself looking for glamour when picking out shoes. I just really like these. They only have a 1″ heel which I usually tend to chose something a bit higher. These sandals are something fun to wear casually yet the jewels dress them up. It’s always to treat to go home from the office to find the Fed-Ex man left a package, and it’s even better when it’s shoes!

I have to challenge Kim’s 3 pairs of shoes for $20. I found 3 pair of shoes for $10 last week at Target! Of course, mine are the red ones. My daughter got the zebra ballets. And who could pass up the cute little jellies?! Those will be for a co-worker’s little girl.

A co-worker that knows how much I like shoes and talking about them sent me this article by Penelope Trunk: Five things that are about to stop sucking at work. I could not pass up sharing number 4…
4. The tyranny of high heels will give way to the pricey, good-for-feet-but-still-sexy, heel.
Academic researchers are finding on many fronts that men like to work with women who dress like women. This means shoulder-length hair or longer, a good amount of makeup but not too trampy, and, yes, high heels. They don’t have to be stiletto, but you need to look like you know how to pull an outfit together. This means that a lot of women are walking to work in flats and switching in the elevator, and kicking their stilettos off under the table during meetings. But that will end, soon, because the Wall Street Journal reports that shoe designers see a gold mine in saving female feet from career-girl frustration.

[Note from Kim: the wonderful folks from Asgi sent us this pair of shoes for review (thanks much). Asgi is a new shoe company that creates comfortable women's shoes designed in Venice, Italy. Asgi combines a state-of-the-art, patent-pending technology called Soleplex with stylish designs. Since Squeak and I both wear 7.5 (although she is probably closer to a size 7 and me to a size 8 ) that is the size they sent. The first pic of me (I look "puffy"), and although extremely comfortable (and I really like them), they were a tad small for me, so Squeak is the new proud owner of them.]
If you are looking for a comfortable shoe, I’ve found what you’re looking for! The comfort of ASGi is underestimated. I’m not kidding you, these are some of the most comfortable shoes. Best yet they are still cute. How often do you find comfortable and cute in the same pair of shoes? I think a lot of it has to do with the heel/sole. There are several other styles of ASGi to choose from on Endless.com plus Endless is currently offering $20 off right now!

Jon is one of my bestfriend’s son. He is a good kid and can get away with wearing whatever he wants. He, his dad and grandpa went to Chicago last week to a couple baseball games. While there were there they went to Niketown, and Jon picked out these multicolored Nike shoes. As you can see they are pretty bright with a pink swoosh and are not something I would wear with a red shirt. But Jon on the other hand can pull it off and it looks ok.

Today I wore a simple white shirt and black walking shorts, sounds plain huh? Well it’s all about the accessories! Add a necklace and great shoes, and it’s an outfit. I rarely buy anything at full price, but these red sandals were something I could not pass up. I got them at DSW when I was shopping with my daughter, and I love ‘em.

Most people think that when they have a special event coming up that they need a new outfit, and then look for shoes. That is not always the case with me. When you like shoes like I do, you look for shoes and then then something to go with them. Another great idea is to buy a simple plain colored dress, and then add the accessories such as this “Coast” printed peep-toe slingback by Bettye Muller (A SimplySoles Exclusive). Add some cool jewelry, and you have a great look.
