I saw these pics of Barbie shoes over on Crispy’s Shoes Blog (and I believe they belong to Hermine Vermeij), but the first thing that came to mind was a card that Squeak told me about, “I want to be Barbie. That bitch has everything.” So true.
Man, I used to love to play with Barbie dolls. I especially loved to go to my grandma’s house to play with Squeak’s old Barbie dolls. My three daughters never got into them as much as I did, against my much delight. But I still coin the guest room as “Barbietown” as it’s full of Barbie houses and cars and totes of Barbie and friends. And it also houses my Holiday Barbie collection. I have every Barbie in that collection from 1989 still new in the box. The first one debuted in 1988 and goes for a pretty penny if you can find one. I’ll have to go downstairs and take a pics of the Barbies to share, and then maybe I’ll line up all the Barbie shoes!

A good shoe shine is recognized, appreciated and acknowledged as the look of today’s successful professionals - and now you can share this shine with others. Shine to Go shoe polisher gives today’s professionals the look - and confidence - that can only come from shined shoes. ~ ShineToGo.com
Zocalo Group sent me some of these convenient all-in-one, no mess shoe polishers that include a polish applicator and buffer with real cream polish to test out. How do they work?
1. Remove the shoe polisher from the package (available in Black, Brown and/or Clear), unfold it and slip onto two fingers. (Package may be reused for easy disposal).
2. Apply a thin layer of polish to both shoes using a circular motion. Allow polish to dry to a haze.
3. Then, turn over the polisher to buff to a shine.
SHINE TO GO Shoe Polisher nourishes leather with natural conditioners, leaves a deep luster finish without any sticky residue and hides scuffs. Cool, eh? And you can buy these Shine To Go Shoe Polishers from Amazon.com for under $1 per use! Way cheaper than getting your shoes shined at the airport!

I have been wanting a pair of Mary-Jane Buckle brown mules ever since Squeak bought a black pair of the Aerosole Gift Snap shoes. Payless had a knock-off version for awhile, but I missed that boat. Then one of my friends wore a pair she had gotten from Target to my brother’s birthday party last week, and said they were really comfortable. I was doubtful of them since I love my Aerosole mules so much, but took her word for it. So when Squeak called me last week to say the Merona Abigail Buckle Mule was on clearance for $16 at Target, I was ecstatic. Until she told me she bought the last size 7.5 in Brown, but I could buy the Black. No, I wanted Brown! But she said they ran a tad small, and there was an 8 available, which fits me perfectly (pic above), so all is well! They are available online as well at Target.com & Amazon.com for only $16.

They say fads come and go every 20 years. I just remembered that I used to have a pair of pale pink gladiator sandals (only we didn’t call them gladiators) in high school, which would have been, ugh, twenty years ago.
I have a trunk full of shoes (that isn’t shown in my closet) that I no longer wear (ie my white moccasins) but can’t part with for various reasons (sentimental value, my favorites, expensive, etc), and I thought for sure I had kept those pink sandals, but I can’t find them! So I searched online and found two similar same-color styles (with the back strap) like the pair I had…

Report Julia Thong Sandal, $56
Beverly Feldman Pink Satin Pristine T-Strap Gladiator Style Sandals, $145.80
Pink Metallic Gladiator Strappy Flat Sandals, $18.99
Man, why didn’t I keep those?! Lesson Learned - Save your Shoes!
Don’t forget to enter to win free storage boxes to save them in!
P.S. I am getting rid of some of my pink sandals as I’ve never wore them.

Rachel Bilson was spotted in NYC on June 17th (source) wearing these Sam Edelman Gilda flat gladiator sandals in Black boa snake. I haven’t jumped on the gladiator trend yet, but these are mighty cute. Available from Piperlime.com, $85 with free shipping.

I saw the cutest pair of gold strappy sandals on a gal at a street dance last weekend. I even asked her if I could take a picture of them with the camera on my cellphone, but it was too dark and the pic didn’t turn out, darn it anyway. So, I’ve been on a mission to find a similiar pair. Here’s the ones I’ve narrowed down my likings to…

Luichiny Melody Gold Sandal, $73
Stuart Weitzman Zoom-Platform Pale Gold Specchio Calf Platform Sandals, $299
Luichiny Silva Metallic Gold Platform Sandal, $93

Alexander McQueen Pale Gold 198917 Stilleto Sandals, $994!
Enzo Angiolini Holling Gold Strappy Sandal, $100
Steve Madden Fabulis Gold Distress Strappy Sandals, $101 - I think these may be the fabulous winner!
