Reader Wayne suggested this book to me awhile ago: Chicken Soup for the Shopper’s Soul: Celebrating Bargains, Boutiques and the Never-Ending Quest by Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen. But I’ve been so busy reading other chick flicka books and have a mound more on my reading agenda.
Book Description Whether you can’t do without your coupons or couture, bargain basements or Bloomingdales, there’s one thing that millions of women (and a few enlightened men) love to do: Shop. Whether you live with them, work with them or wait on them, you know who they are: Those people who live by the mantra: “Never pay retail.” Chicken Soup for the Shopper’s Soul is the perfect gift for anyone in frequent need of “retail therapy.” For them, shopping is an art form: finding a bargain buy, accessorizing to a T, or finding the perfect dress (and the shoes to go with it) for a special night out. Sounds right up my alley. Buy the book now from Amazon!

It seems the last few days of news has been filled with the upcoming release of the iPhone and Paris’ release from jail. I now know more about both of those than I do about the war in Iraq.
At least with Paris Hilton out of jail, we can now get back to gossiping about her fashion style. Cuz I’m sure none of us want to wear orange jumpsuits anytime soon. Head on over to Steal The Style to read about Paris’ Stuart Weitzman Exsling ultra sexy platform sling-backs. Available in combination crepe and patent heel or patent and wood heel. Peep Toe. Leather Lining. Brushed Leather Sole. Made in Spain. 4 1/2″ heel.

From today’s USA Today: Payless ShoeSource will become the exclusive U.S. seller of Dexter brand shoes, adding a big piece to Payless’ strategy of distancing itself from its bargain-bin shoe past, the companies said Tuesday.
Formerly found in department stores like Kohl’s and J.C. Penney’s, the 50-year-old brand will begin appearing in Payless’ 4,600 stores in a limited men’s line this Christmas. A full line of men’s and women’s casual and dress shoes will go on sale next year, said Matt Rubel, the company’s chief executive.
The company won’t completely abandon its low-cost ancestry. Payless plans to develop the shoes in its New York design studio and charge $25 to $45 a pair for men, below the $60 price they fetched in department stores, and $15 to $30 for women, Rubel said. Full Story.

President George W. Bush was seen in Washington wearing CROCS getting ready to go on a bike ride. Listen Mr Prez, the socks gotta go. You do not, I repeat DO NOT wear socks with Crocs. There are ventilation holes in Crocs for a reason.
The Washington Post reports he acquired the Crocs on his own. They were not a gift nor a marketing ploy.
According to Manolo, wearing Crocs should be grounds for impeachment.

The unique sole construction of Masai Barefoot Technology (MBT) creates a natural instability underfoot, which the body has to balance with every step. This leads to multitude of positive effects on the whole body…
- activates neglected muscles
- improves posture and gait
- tones and shapes the body
- can help with back, hip, leg & foot problems
- can help with joint, muscle, ligament and tendon injuries
- reduces stress on knee and hip joints
Hmmm, these shoes sound like they could help me, especially since I’m not getting any younger! But actually, I’m thinking they may help my son more who is still recovering from breaking his leg. Wish they didn’t cost so much, though.
But, the MBT Shoes are on Sale at BodyTrends.com!

I like cute shoes, but I hate the pain of blisters and raw spots. I am in love with my New Balance shoes. They are so comfy and I can be on my feet for hours without pain. I know they don’t have heels or aren’t pointy or trendy…but I love them. I can run all of my errands, walk the dog, shop, etc and I don’t worry about sore feet later. ~ RL, CO

Ever walk by those shoe shine guys at the airport or on the street and say to yourself “who shines their shoes anymore”? If you were smart, it’d be you!
I’ve never had my shoes shined by one of these guys before, but on a recent trip from New York, I stopped by the stand in Concourse A at DIA (Denver International Airport) and gave it a try. I just had a jam-packed weekend at home with Kim and my shoes were terribly scuffed from being in a packed bar. As I hopped up in the chair, the guy said, “Size 13, right”?
“That’s right”. I was impressed already.
About 5 minutes of chit chat and polishing, my Bostonians looked better than new. The charge was $5 (and I gave him $5 tip on top). After returning to the office, a coworker said they had a military shine to them.
Don’t be shy the next time you walk by a stand with a pair of leather shoes on. Take 5 minutes to take care of your shoes. Heck, I’ve even seen women in the big chair getting their heels shined! Your shoes will thank you with a longer life!

These Zebra print Matisse Modena sandals reminded me of this past weekend. We had a girls (ladies) sleepover. The afternoon was spent by the pool with drinks. The hostess was great, she even bought us all matching PJ’s, they yes all were zebra print. All five of us went to bed looking the same. These may not go with the pajamas, however they are very fashionable and the hardware ornamentation adds an extra touch. Available from Zappos.com.
