I rarely wear socks in the summer. So while shopping in Denver this past weekend, I was estactic to find these Nike Free 4.0 running shoes that are made especially for bare feet! I also picked up a couple pairs of closed-toe casuals, Blowfish Sweetart Mary Jane (they tend to run small, had to get one size bigger) and Rocket Dog Putters (in Tribal Brown). These are perfect for days when my toenails need a touch-up. But since I started using O.P.I. brand nail polish (I buy mine through eBay for less than salon prices), my polish rarely chips before I want to change colors.

I am a shoe addict, and I have over 20 pair of shoes. Out of all those shoes, I like my New Balance - Men’s M2001 - Series 2001 the best. These shoes, even though kind of expensive, are very comfortable. Plus the style is not too flashy, so I can wear it to very much any non-formal event without feeling embarassed. The best part about this pair of shoes is the non-skid sole. I live in Baltimore, and in the winter we do receive some heavy snow. With this pair of shoes, I never fall on the ground due to ice. Plus when I bought them through Amazon.com, they were on sale! ~ Dung, MD
Men’s New Balance M2001 are still on sale at Amazon.com!

In the new June/July issue of StyleWatch Magazine, editor Susan Kaufman has all the answers…
Q. I walk a lot, but I’m tired of sneakers. Can you suggest stylish, comfy shoes?
A. Cute ballet flats may seem to be the obvious answer, but they lack arch support and have little in the way of padding. Accessories editor Regina Delgado Gardiner recommends checking out brands such as Taryn Rose (designed by a former orthopedic surgeon; “Branda” flat shown), Naturalizer, Aerosoles and Cole Haan, which specialize in stylish comfort footwear. All their shoes are created with the anatomy of the foot in mind; many come with rubber soles to absorb impact; and some even use the same type of cushioning found inside running shoes (ie Cole Haan works with Nike to create sneaker-like insoles).

I was at Herberger’s today, and I just about bought a pair of Aerosole Gift Snap Shoes that Squeak blogged about a couple of months ago and I’ve been envious of. They were on clearance for under $30, but they only had one pair in my size, and the heel was all scuffed up, so I figured that was a sign not to get them. Well, now I’m re-thinking and may go back to see if they are still available as they are all sold out at Aerosoles.com (and selling for $65). I saw a pair of Merona Abigail Buckle Mules at Target that were near-replicas, but I could tell the leather wasn’t quite as soft and wouldn’t be quite as comfortable. But for $22.99, I could live with them as well. But I did end up buying a pair of sandals and a pair of espadrilles at Walmart today that I didn’t really need…

The Puma H. Street is such an amazing shoe. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to find them in the right size. I am size 12. The H Street by Puma is light, flexible, and absolutely comfortable. They are great for running, the gym, and hanging around. These are a popular pair of shoes among “minimalist” runners out there, and these are definitely the most minimal shoe out there. It’s not bulky or thick, so you can feel the ground beneath you. I just wish I can find more colors in my size of the Puma H Street. ~ Matt, NJ

Breathable mesh and durable synthetic leather upper. EVA midsole provides excellent cushioning and comfort.
