Mary Jane Keep on Burning

I’ve always been a fan of “Mary Jane” styled shoes, and own several pairs.  The problem is I never can find the perfect outfit to wear them with.  But, I was so excited when I first saw Target carry these fun, cute, comfortable alternative to slippers.  I love to wear them around the house (too hot to wear to bed though). I own several pairs of these as well (the picture is of my Christmas ones that I bought this year after Christmas on clearance).  If I knew how to knit, I could make my own.

While I’m on the subject of Mary Janes, I found the cutest Mary Jane Socks for little girls at UncommonGoods.com  ”She’s never too young for Mary Janes, and this six-pack of soft cotton socks will provide her with her first pairs. These adorable little Mary Jane socks look just like the classic shoe, complete with a stripe strap and non-skid bottoms. Set includes one pair of each color and comes in an attractive gift box.”  Guess what my little Godchild is getting for her first birthday?!

Is Yellow the New Black?

Schutz - 8301023 (Old Yellow) - Women's Say it isn’t so. I personally don’t care for wearing the sunflower color on my feet.  But the Atlanta Journal-Constitution printed last week that yellow is the most versatile color for this transitional time of year. They recommended the Amina style high-heeled patent sandals  from Cole Haan (I couldn’t find a link for it) as the perfect footnote with a little black dress. Later, you can pair the sandals with a white dress. I surfed and surfed for a yellow pair of sandals that I would consider wearing.  I decided on these Sexy Chic Schutz Sandals - Leather upper with beaded detail; Wrap-around ankle straps for the perfect fit; Leather padded footbed; Leather covered heel completes this sexy sandal; 3 1/2″ heel; Made in Brazil.

I prefer Barefoot over Fivefingers

Vibram Five Fingers

I was watching Who Wants to be a Millionaire last week, and one of the contestants was a NASA scientist.  He was wearing some odd looking contraptions for shoes, so I had to google them and find out more. Turns out they are called “Fivefingers” by Vibram. Honestly I wouldn’t be caught dead in them (can’t stand things between my toes), but they do appeal to those that like to run around barefoot.  Just ask Barefoot Ted.
Buy Vibram FiveFingers Shoes.

Marifer is a Heart Throb Herself

Marifer's Steve Madden My friend Marifer is a fan of Steve Madden pumps.  This picture of her foot was taken last year at the Real World Suite at the Palms Resort Casino in Las Vegas where MTV actually filmed the Real World Series.  We took our shoes off to jump on the beds!  Serious. Yes, there was alcohol involved.Steve Madden Throb

I am off to Vegas again for a conference and got invited to another party there - Marifier, I wish you were attending!!

The Steve Madden Throb is a stunning quarter strap pump that will surely turn heads!  Leather or fabric upper with elegant vamp design. Stylish criss cross straps. Adjustable ankle strap for added comfort. Fashionable peep toe and covered wedge heel complete this classic look. 4″ heel.  Great Reviews.

Even Stars are Shoe Addicts

Kellie PicklerI was just watching CMT and saw Kellie Pickler’s new music video “Red High Heels“.  Cool vid.  So, of course, I had to google her, and I found this….

From Great American Country
Kellie Pickler Puts On Her “Red High Heels”
A self diagnosed shoe addict, 19 Recordings/BNA Records artist and American Idol finalist, Kellie Pickler strolls to radio with her debut single, “Red High Heels.” And, as co-writer on the song, being able to talk about it is good therapy. Read rest of article.

Seeing that video makes me want a pair of red high heels, like these Chinese Laundry Spicy Pumps for myself.  I just wish I looked as good as she did in them!

Listen to Red High Heels on iTunes!

Shoe Stores Popping Up Left and Right

My friend, Shumly (another avid shoe lover), keeps me up-to-date on the new shoe site sagas, namely Piperlime.com and Endless.com.  Piperlime is a division of Gap, Inc.  Whereas Endless is the love child of Amazon.com.  Both are sure to give Zappos a run for the money. But I think there are plenty of shoe addicts (and more getting online everyday) for them all to play nicely.

Aerosoles Steps Out For Cancer Prevention

In memory of Andrew Macchio, a beloved friend and Aerosoles associate, Aerosoles.com is donating a portion of the proceeds from their Yanky Andy and Fine N Andy shoes to the National Colorectal Cancer Research Alliance, the charity Katie Couric endorses since her husband died of colon cancer.

Yanky Andy is a sporty suede slip-on with perforated nubuck accents. Elastic gore, leather lining and extra cushioned insole. Flexible rubber sole.

Fine N Andy is a Mary Jane done sporty in soft suede with elasticized straps, leather lining and extra cushioned insole. Flexible rubber sole.

Now if only they were tax-deductible as a charitable donation!

Forget the Diet. Buy New Shoes!

Who needs to diet when you can just buy new shoes?  The Sun reports on “…a new breed of hardworking trainers promise to get you fit, toned and improve your posture by simply walking in them. Oh, and they also claim to help you burn more calories and reduce cellulite…”  Read the entire Magic diet shoes put to the test article. Hook me up!  Maybe I’ll need to make a trip to the UK to pick up a pair.
